Privacy Policy

MVR-WorkZ, by Construct · Effective 23 July 2026

The short version. MVR-WorkZ runs in your browser. The lighting files you open, edit, and save stay on your device — they are never uploaded to us. We don’t use advertising or third-party analytics trackers. The only data that leaves your browser is when you sign in to GDTF Share, and even then we never store your GDTF Share password.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the MVR-WorkZ web application (the “Service”), operated by Construct Enterprises LLC (“Construct,” “we,” “us”), handles and how. It should be read together with our Terms of Use.

1. Your lighting files stay on your device

When you open, view, edit, or save an MVR or GDTF file, all processing happens locally in your web browser. Your scene files are never uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on Construct’s servers. When you click “Save MVR,” the file is written back out through your own browser to a location you choose. We have no access to and keep no copy of Your Content.

2. Data stored locally in your browser

To make the tool usable, the Service stores some data on your own device only, using your browser’s local storage. This data stays on your device, is not sent to us, and can be cleared by you at any time:

WhatWhereWhy
Interface preferences (sidebar width, brightness, view settings)localStorage keys prefixed mvr-viewer-Remember your settings between visits
Your acceptance of the TermslocalStorage (mvr-viewer-legal-accepted)So we don’t re-prompt you every visit
The most recently loaded sceneIndexedDB database mvr-viewerReopen your last rig quickly; overwritten on each new load

You can remove all of this at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for MVR-WorkZ, or by using the reset snippet in the Help page.

3. GDTF Share sign-in

The Service offers an optional feature to search and download fixture profiles from GDTF Share (gdtf-share.com). This is the only feature that sends any information off your device, and only when you choose to use it:

4. Cookies and tracking

MVR-WorkZ does not use advertising cookies, third-party analytics, or cross-site tracking. The only cookies the Service sets are the strictly necessary HttpOnly GDTF Share session cookies described above, and they are set only if you sign in to GDTF Share.

5. Hosting and server logs

The Service is hosted on Cloudflare. Like virtually all websites, the hosting infrastructure may automatically process limited technical request data (such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps) for the purpose of delivering the site securely, preventing abuse, and keeping the service running. This processing is handled by our hosting provider under its own terms; we do not use it to build profiles of individual users or to track you across other sites.

6. How we use information

We use the limited data described above only to: operate and secure the Service; remember your preferences on your device; authenticate you with GDTF Share at your request; and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties except the service providers named here (Cloudflare hosting and, at your request, GDTF Share) or as required by law.

7. Your choices and rights

Because almost everything the Service stores lives on your own device, you are in direct control of it: you can clear the Service’s local storage, IndexedDB, and cookies through your browser at any time, and you can decline to use the GDTF Share feature. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA/CPRA), you may have additional rights regarding personal data — such as access, correction, deletion, or objection. To make such a request, contact us at the address below and we will respond as required by applicable law.

8. Children

The Service is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. International users

The Service may be accessed from anywhere. If you use it from outside the country where our hosting infrastructure operates, be aware that the limited technical data described in Section 5 may be processed in other countries whose data-protection laws differ from your own.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above. For material changes, we may also ask you to review the updated Terms and Policy again within the app.
